Coming soon ...

Those of you who're on Facebook already heard about this, but for those of you who aren't here ya go. :) I saved a small wash table from someone's basement and I'm fixing it up! I have to say I'm pretty pumped about it!  Soon, there will be before and after pictures ... probably sometime this week.  I got the first coat of paint on tonight, another coat maybe tomorrow, and then doing drawer pulls and drawer bottoms and last details things! I can't wait to get it done and use it. I'm very excited!  Stick around!

They're piling up

Do you ever do something and then think, "This would be a good post for my blog"?  Yeah?  You, too?  Well, good.  I'm glad I'm not the only one. ... Wait, you mean you actually post your blog ideas?  Well ... ahem ... I do ... sometimes ... too. *weak smile*

The truth is, I have a sticky note on the top of my computer so every time I open my computer and turn it on, I see the list of "things to blog" and, well, the list is long, and growing.  So yes, there is a post (many actually) in this blog's future, but I don't know how soon it will be ... hopefully sooner rather then later. :)  So, stick around, I'm hoping to post again soon.

400th Post!

Wa-hooo.  Just wanted to let you know, this post is my 400th post!!!! :) For me, that's a lot!!

So ...

I know what you're all thinking ... *Gasp* It's a- It's a-a-a post!!!!

Honestly, I'm kind of thinking the same thing. What has happened to the last month (over actually) since I last posted!? Do you ever have those times when you get this GREAT idea of something to post, but you're not home, or at least not around your computer, and then when you actually HAVE the time to post you think ... "Why was I going to post THAT?!" ... Yeah, that's kind of been my story the last many, many weeks. I've even taken pictures to post and then when I look at them I think, "Aww, that's kinda dumb."

But, here I am. Finally posting again on this poor abandoned blog. I've missed posting and missed hearing from all you guys. Your comments honestly brighten my days! So, leave me some. What are you all up to? But most importantly, what is God doing in your life? I do check your blogs when time permits, but I don't always have the time to sit and read a lot. But I'd love to know, and since there is a comment box ... well ... I'd shaw be grateful ta ya iffin ya used it. *wink*

Yesterday evening I rearranged my room ... well, actually it started Saturday night because Leah was feeling rearrange-y and rearrange-ied her room which inspired me to at least try my hand at this rearranging and *gasp* could I honestly mean ... Decorating! My ideas of decorating consist of pounding a nail in a wall and putting a picture on it or tacking something onto a bulletin board. Thankfully Leah's idea of decorating is something more like this. One of her great ideas that she shared with me, when I was trying to beautify said bulletin board was instead of using pins or tacks to pin pictures up, use old earrings. And instead of just having a bookshelf, light it up with a string of lights intertwined within and around the things on the shelves (actually, I just came up with that one just now, as I was sitting here typing, but it sounds like a Leah or Katie decorating thing.)

Anyway. That was just a little unnessiscary up-date for all ya wonderfully faithful readers out there. :) And just so ya know, there will be pictures ... eventually. Yes, I AM going to try to keep up on the blogging again. We'll see how that goes! Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you ... sweet peeps

I just thought, since you were all so wonderful and thoughtful when I mentioned my cold, that I would let you all know that I'm much better now. My nose is no longer stuffy, my ears are no longer plugged and my energy is pretty much back up to normal. :) So thank you all for your kind words and well-wishes!! It means so much to me to know that you all care enough to leave me a little comment. :)

It's today...

...The funeral is today. Yesterday was the visitation. I cannot even begin to explain the love and comfort I felt as we grieved for Grandma, but we did not grieve without hope. We know Grandma is with our Lord and Savior and we could not even think of having her back from such glory!! The prayers and the hugs and the flowers from different people ... it was amazing how the Lord used such things to bring about His peace yesterday. So I ask you, again, to continue to keep us in your prayers. Yesterday was hard ... very hard, but today will be much harder, I think. But where we have pain, sorrow and misery, Christ has healing, peace, and mercy! What a joy to walk through this time with Christ in our hearts and minds! Please pray that Christ would be our focus today as we talk to many, many friends and family. That Christ would be made much of, that He would rise above all in our conversations, thoughts and hearts! Thank you, dear, dear bloggie friends.

Some of you may remember when my Grandma came to stay with us a while back (and then went home) because she wasn't doing so well. God numbered her days before she was born and that number came. Grandma passed away Saturday night or Sunday morning. Please pray for my Father and his siblings as they try to work everything out for funeral and such, also pray that the peace and grace of our Father and Lord would completely surround them in this time of sorrow and pain. Also, please keep the rest of my family (aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, parents, and such) in your prayers that this would be a time of showing the goodness and love of our Father to those around us. That His light would be what people see in this time of our grief. Thank you so much! Please, if you feel the need, stop over (here or here) and let my father know your praying for him.

Well whadaya know ... a post

Hello bloggie peeps!!! It's been quite a while ... a long while in fact. I haven't been up to much. How about you guys? Leave me a comment about how your life is. I haven't had much Internet connection time lately so I haven't been up-to-date on all of your blogs, so leave me a note, let me know you're still out there!

Busy, busy, busy ...

Hello peeps!! I know it's been quite a while since I've last posted. But I have good cause for not writing. :) I've started up an old job again. I take care of a little boy every morning, every morning, that is, but Sunday (in fact, as I write this I'm getting ready to step out the back door to my car to drive to work). Since the family goes to our church sometimes I will hold him at church picnics, too. In a couple of weeks piano lessons will start up again. So my days will be pretty full. But I will try to keep up on posting at least once in a while. I miss posting and hearing from all you wonderful peeps!! Your comments and e-mails make blogging so much more enjoyable! I'm back!

Some of you perhaps knew that I was going to the MMTA (Minnesota Music Teachers Association) convention and some of you didn't. :) But either way, I'm back home and ready to sleep. :) I'm very tired, which I can't figure out because I sat for nearly two days straight! Well ... then again, maybe not

So, I thought I'd be able to get back into blogging this week but I guess not.

Grandma got out of the hospital on Wednesday but the doctor said she is not to live by herself so she came to live with us. She will be with us for a while, I'm guessing. She is not able to do many of the things she used to. We are to take care of all her food, all her medicine, helping her walk, driving for her, etc.. We've made many trips to the doctor for check ups and many trips to Grandma's house so she could get her things to move into our house for a while. She's doing much better, but she's still not 100% yet.

Generally my room is the guest bedroom but since Grandma doesn't do stairs very well, (I live in the basement) Leah moved down to my room while Grandma is here. So that's a slight adjustment as well, (especially at night, because she steals all of the blankets, then I freeze and I'm not used to having the covers taken from me :) ).

Also, the cold I mentioned before has officially set in. Not just on me, but on my whole family. I hope Grandma doesn't come down with it.

So I've been tired, and with Grandma here we've been adjusting to different things, as she has also been doing.

I just wanted to give you an up-date on my life, since I haven't written for a while. Also I wanted to thank you all for leaving comments on my last post about Grandma, thank you for your kind words!!

Sorry Peeps

It has been forever and a day since I posted on here. I'm sorry peeps. My week was crazy. I don't remember much of the first part of the week (that right there should tell you something. :) ) but the last part kind of flew by, yet at the same time it took forever. Weird, I know.

Thursday I taught piano nearly all day, nothing new. But the next day, Friday, my sister Leah, who plays varsity softball, was going to play in the Metro-dome! Wahoo. It was very fun and exciting. The only thing was that they played at 8:00am. Not a problem, if we didn't live two hours away. Now, I'm a night owl. I don't do mornings very well, but I've made a change from sleeping in until 8:30am or 9:00am, to getting up at 7:30am. I've been doing it for quite a few months now and I've very happy with it. To some of you that may be early, to some it may be late, to me it's just right. :)

But back to Friday and the Metro-dome. Since we do live two hours away from the dome and we (they) played at 8:00am we had to get up at 4:00am so we could be out of the house at 4:40am so we could leave our town by 5:00am. For this very reason I thought about calling my post "Death to the non-morning person" or "Murder of the night owl" or some such dramatic thing. :) Anyway, I was alive, showered, packed, dressed, etc., etc., on time!! I was even awake, not by any means talkative, or active, or even totally aware of what was going on, but awake. I was very surprised. Well, we got to the dome, they played, they own 9-0! Yeah!! As we were driving home, Dad called Grandma to see how she was, because she'd been sick a few days earlier (I was driving, Dad was not talking on his cellphone and driving at the same time ... not like I don't do that myself ... never mind). To make a very, very, very, very, ... yeah, long story short (in the time frame of 1:30pm to about 10:20pm) Grandma was VERY sick. She'd fallen a few times, she couldn't stand, couldn't walk, she hadn't eaten for a while, she had a temp of about 103, her heart rate was 136, and other things. So we ended up taking her to the emergency room were they put her up in a hospital bed (after hours and hours of tests) and they will keep her until about Wednesday. We're not really sure what's is going on or what happened, but the doctors are figuring it all out. We think maybe it was her medication or pneumonia or something else (in January she was in the hospital for congestive heart failure) dew to not being fully recovered from January.

After we got her settled in and bought her a couple of things from Wal-mart we headed home, Dad driving the van and I was driving Grandma's car. So needless to say, we didn't get home until late, 11:00pm to be exact. When I left the house it was dark and when I got home it was dark. At times during the day I had a hard time remembering that it was all one day. Sitting in the emergency waiting room for four to five hours made me wonder if it was really only that morning that we'd been at the Metro dome.

Saturday I did a bunch of cleaning, vacuuming, ironing of clothes, and my work-out. Saturday was pretty full too.

Today we had church and then a fellowship meal, as we do every first and third Sundays of the month. Then after that we had a baby shower for my Sister-in-law and Greta, my niece!

And to top it all off I think I'm coming down with a cold.

So all of that to say, I'm sorry I haven't written, I'm still very tired. Hopefully I'll get back in to blogging again this week.

The snow is gone already!

Wow, three posts in one day, you lucky peeps you. :)

I walked upstairs, not moments ago :) and looked out the window and look what I saw:I know, 'tis amazing! :) Actually, I knew it would be gone within a day or so, but I was rather surprised that it happened in a matter of hours. That's the nice thing about snow in Minnesota in the spring, it doesn't stay around long. :) So umm ... this random post was just to let you all know that amazing tidbit about what happened in the last 10 minutes. :) Sorry, I'm just weird like that.

I assure you ...

there IS a post in this blogs future. Hopefully near future. :)

I have things to post about, it's just that with piano teaching and going to Leah's softball games I run out of time to post the things that have been on my mind.

So do not give up on this little rejected blog just yet, I have not forgotten it. :) Keep checking back, soon you will be rewarded for your patience and faithfulness with a new post.

So I ask you ... What would you use it for?

Shopping at our secondhand store the other day I found this beautiful little basket, and just had to get it, the only problem is now that I have it I don't know what to use it for! This is quite sad because I want to use it and not just put it away until I can think of something, so here's where you come in, all you wonderful peeps!! What would you use it for? Please tell me, I'm so in need of help, and also very excited to see what you come up with! So please, comment, comment, comment. :) I'll be waiting!

Miss Jane Day Oops

For those of you who were looking for my Miss Jane Day last week, I'm sorry to say that I forgot to post one. :) It just completely slipped my mind. I hope to get back into it this week if time allows. Sorry about that.

Isn't it the greatest!!?? I completely covered my screen. :) It made me giggle and I just had so much fun!!! :)

Busy, yet extremely fun, weekend!!

As some of you know, I teach piano, and I've finally gotten to the point (or rather God brought me the students and brought me to the point) were I have enough students to put on my very own piano recital. I've never done my own recital before, so it's very different getting ready to listen to the recital and make sure everything is ready for the recital reception instead of practicing a song to play in the recital. :) I'm very excited. I can't wait to hear my students play. They are all going to do great! :) Not like I'm biased or anything. ;) But they are all working hard (or they should be :) ) so I think it will be good. I'm not expecting a perfect recital, but a good one just the same. If they mess up it will be okay. Pianists mess up sometimes (speaking from 15 (almost 16) years of experience; a lot of the time we mess up. :) ) but you keep going, you don't stop, you don't get discouraged, you keep going!! Kind of like in the Christian walk, you stumble and fall, but you keep going, you don't get discouraged and give up!

So all of that to say, if I don't post again this week, you know why. :) Cookies need baked, programs need fixed and printed, punch needs made and mixed, tables need set up, piano lessons need taught, new students need started, student's songs need tweak, etc., etc.. So if I don't get to back here this week I hope you all have a wonderful week and weekend, praising and glorify Christ; our Lord, Savior, Best Friend, Shepard, Master, and King!!!

As I've said in a previous post, I'm going to try to post a scene of Jane Austen once a week. But it would make me so very happy to have every one help me!!
