For the birds

A couple of days ago the Lord blessed us with some birds at our feeders that we hadn't seen before. They were Red-Breasted Grosbeaks. We've never had them at our feeders and it was so neat. They are such beautiful birds! :) The orange one in the left corner here is a Baltimore Oriole.

Rose garden up-date

Last year when I planted my mini roses two of them died. So I called and got two new ones like the ones that died. And I planted them today. I'm so excited how God is allowing my roses to grow. I can't wait for them to bloom! When they do you will see how beautiful they are. :) There will be lots of pictures! :) But till the blooms come you can enjoy the leaves with me! :)

: : Birds and shopping : :

This morning on mom's bird feeder we had little boy goldfinches! They are such pretty birds. Bright yellow and oh so little. :) At one point we had three of them on the same feeder, but I didn't move fast enough to get those with the camera. But I did get these.

For dinner we went out to celebrate Leah and E finishing school for the year! It was really fun. Then after dinner we headed to Wal-mart. I was going to buy myself a shirt that I had been eyeing for a while and one to go under it, but dad was so very generous and bought it for me! (He's so nice to me! Love you Daddy!) And he bought me an anklet. So in the past few days I have "refreshed" my closet and should be just fine for quite a while. I'm so excited!

(Left and bottom right) Leah being so silly in Wal-mart. I think that look so goes for you Leah. :) (Don't worry she didn't get either the hat or the sunglasses. Thankfully!) :)

(Left) My anklet. So pretty. The little stones change color in the light. (Right) New sandals and anklet. So much fun!

~*~ Flowers ~*~

Walking around the yard the other day I took some pictures of the flowers that are starting to bloom. They are so beautiful with amazing colors and textures. :) It's great. I've been thinking a lot about how flowers seemed dead all winter and in the spring there is no doubt. It reminded me of the Christian's walk as well. Sometimes we seem dead, or not growing in our walk. But when we pray and ask God to give us a desire for Him and to draw is closer to Him, and we truly mean it and want it, He does, and we "bloom" with love and praise for Him. I just thought that was a neat thing. :) As I was thinking on these things, a previous post came to mind. Maybe you've already read it, but if you're like me, I continue to learn from things I've read hundreds of times. "I'm a tree?"

A couple girl hours

This morning Leah and I went over to the new Wal-mart to look for new sandals. :) It was great fun. We sang and listened to music on the way over and on the way home. At Wal-mart I bought a shirt, but we couldn't find any sandals that we liked so we went to Target!! There we found really neat-o sandals that matched! Very cool. :) On the way home we listened to my new C.D. (bought at Wal-mart) and chowed down on "Fruit by the foot" (also bought at Wal-mart). It was just a GREAT morning. :)
(Left corner) My new, very cute shirt! Can't wait to wear it!

(Left) After buying our new sandals we chucked our shoes, socks, and sweaters in the back seat because it was hot and because we wanted to wear our new sandals. :) (Right) Music and pop on the way over and home.

Fishing and toenails

This afternoon we went out to the lake to do some "first time this year" fishing! It was really fun to just sit and enjoy the sunshine and watch Leah, E, and C (a friend who came over for the day) fish. After fishing Leah had to head off to practice, so C and I painted our toe nails. :) It was a GREAT day!

and only, fish. (Right) Leah's first fish. Don't worry we threw it back in the lake when we were done measuring it, it was just fine.

(Left) Name on Leah's rod. See how it changes color in the sunlight? Very cool! (Right) It was so warm we had to shed the sweatshirts.

(Left) C didn't have any sandals so she wore mine and took them off when we got there. :) Silly girl. (Right) Hole in the dock that I thought looked neat.
